Waves

Tue, 06/14/2016 - 18:00 -- Hed9060

Emotion.

Pure and strong.

It filled her with an ethereal

richness,

like crashing tidal waves

cascading within her heart

with no

escape.

Sometimes

life bore down on her

and the tide

that was her emotion

began to churn

and the waves

began to froth,

pushing and shoving

againts the barriers

that were her small,

human,

heart.

LET US OUT,

LET US OUT,

screamed

the voices

of the wind

from

the waves.

And so

she did.

With words.

Her mind was suddenly bursting

at the seams

with them.

Words.

Words that gave peace

and life

to the typhoon

in her heart.

With them,

she dug a channel,

dug with precision

and care

until it reached

directly through her

and onto

the paper

in front of her.

There, the water spread

and glistened

like jewels

and tears.

The crashing in her heart lessened

and her lips

rose upward

in a gentle slope.

Emotion.

Waves.

Words.
