Waves

Location

Take my breath

Take me away

This world has left me with nothing

And no where to stay

I hold my breath as I’m drifting away,

an unforgiving ocean

Drowning in emotion -

turned out to be what brought me back to sanity.

I can’t swim but I’m not afraid.

On this boat I see hope in the form of waves

I see the perfect storm that will take me away,

from a terrible destiny

to bring me back to a state of peace.

There’s a hell on Earth -

believe me I’ve lived it,

but there’s also a heaven above

that makes life worth living.

People with just enough hope to build you a current,

a rip tide that will snap you back into it.

They will bring you back to joy

A reason for living.
