Watching

I’m always watching,

Just an observer,

Just another face in the crowd.

Always so elusive,

Just close enough

For you to touch,

And for that moment,

You know how it feels

To be in me,

To know an embrace

Will seemingly

always be there

And someone to

stand by you forever.

You thought that forever

Was an eternity, ha!

But as usual,

You are wrong,

Oh so wrong.

Forever is too short

And that,

They tell me,

Is your fault,

Always your fault.

And so,

I am back to watching,

Watching the clock,

Waiting for your time

To come when you

Fruitlessly try to fill

An endless void

With great acts of stupidity,

When you show your face,

But not truly

being there,

Let yourself go.

And now that you

have had a taste

Of what it’s like

You want more,

You want to be safe,

Loved,

Wanted,

Free,

But instead,

You are stuck,

Trapped even,

Watching,

Just as I do.

Always watching,

Watching the clock,

Watching

And

Waiting

For what seems

Like an eternity,

Waiting for

Your time

To end.

Leaving Me,

Well,

Victorious.
