Watch Your Words (Spoken Word Poetry)

Sticks and stones may break your bones but words will tear you down, turn your smile into a frown, and crush your soul.  They plant in your mind an image that tortures your self-confidence until you’re sure that all you’re made of is empty space, that your life is a waste and a burden to society, to a society that tells you variety is a no go.  These words make you sit at the mirror and brood on the nasty and rude comments until you see something ugly.  When they finally crush your soul you lose self-control and make their image your role in reality.  After a while you mentality adapts to what those words embody and now you look in the mirror and find it strange you don’t see your body.  In its place there is a stranger.  Your eyes don’t recognize the body in the mirror because you’re hypnotized by the words and the lies so that all you see is fear.

A study by Dr. Emoto compared water to the flow of the words that leave you feeling pathetic, words like “evil” and “anger” and “you make me sick”.  Freezing the water caused crystals to appear into ugly and deformed shapes that smear.  It is so clear these crystals are a mirror of what they heard.  Did you know two-thirds of your body is water?  So watch your words; they shape you, your friends, your sons and your daughters.

Sticks and stones may break your bones but words will make you rise, turn your smile into supersize, and restore your soul.  They plant in your mind an image that supports your self-confidence until you’re sure that all you’re made of is gold, that your life is valuable and an asset to society, to a society that cries for variety.  These words make you sit at the mirror and meditate on the loving and high-rate comments until you see something of beauty.  When they finally restore your soul you gain self-control and make their image your role in reality.  After a while your mentality adapts to what those words embody and now you look in the mirror and find it hard to believe you don’t see your body.  In its place there is a believer.  You’re eyes begin to recognize the body in the reflection because you’re finalized by the words and the light so that all you see is perfection.

A study by Dr. Emoto compared water to the flow of the words that leave you feeling embraced, words like “love” and “truth” and “amazing grace”.  Freezing the water caused crystals to appear into elegant shapes worthy of a chandelier.  There’s no objection these crystals are a reflection of what they heard.  Did you know two-thirds of your body is water?  So watch your words; they shape you, your friends, your sons and your daughters.
