Washed Away

You speak in hushed whispers

But I am no longer listening to your thoughts

My mind is wandering

Burning at a thousand watts

I am buried deep in this commotion

The swell of my mind

Rivals any ocean

Try as you might

You can't save me from these tides

Spinning out in the undertow

I'm trying hard to surface

Though I find my panic peaceful

Could I just stay here for a minute more

Let my worries fall on to the ocean floor

Maybe I'll float

When my anchor has washed away.
