A Walk Past the Border
Growing up you are taught right from wrong,
They file up the bad from good,
She couldn't speak no English so they often called us hood,
Waking at 5 so she could work her eyes
Is what finally broke her after 10 years strong,
So she headed home knowing it would be wrong to leave her sons,
Each day I ask how will support myself?
Is this the price I pay for all she's done?
A walk past the wall can often change your life
It's why I could never disguise my work ethic even though I try,
A good women raised me regardless of the law,
I dont fall far from the tree these are the fruits I brought
So I could share with you a thing or two,
of how she did it all while I was still in her womb.
