It’s a funny thing how they call us unique

But then turn around and hand us a rag of defeat

There eyes bleed through me like delicates on whites

Little did I know they were the thieves in the night

I caught her sneaking out my window

She came back and asked, “Can I borrow a pencil?”

Then it hit me. I was robbed.

I leaped on my own two feet, not willing to accept this defeat

I was going to take back what was mine

What made me whole and left me undefined

Leaped through a window already broken

I needed some comfort so I grabbed a token

Like I needed to pay for this crazy ride I allowed myself to get on

I said it’s too high but the wind blew my words to the sky

I ran, and I ran, and I ran I was so cold

You could see my footprints if it snowed

I caught up to her and tackled her to the ground

My hands could barely touch what I had found

It was me, alone and afraid and I was tired, so tired

Yet I held myself down

That is, until reality came around
