Waiting On Change
YOU need to change
YOU utter words of pain
Sharp enough to slit my wrist
Yet clear enough for me to think
Should I really end this?
The name calling the jokes
It all never stops
So I isolate myself and ponder my thoughts
Beaten and bruised, torn down and unhappy
Why do YOU hate me for my sexuality?
If I am gay, straight, lesbian or confused
In all honesty I wonder, why does it concern YOU?
I am constantly criticized for simply being me
And YOU society, are the bully.

Very well written, I feel the pain thru the words. Hoping change comes sooner than later we are losing way too many GREAT children.

Love the poem, constantly think about that issue
and why other people care so much about what
people do or like. This poem is great.

good poem!!!
Amen. I can totally relate, because society encourages us all to be ouselves yet society itself judges and critizes us for not reaching "the image" they have in mind!!!
Great poem, and two thumbs up!!!
