Voicing My Soul

Location

There's a light in my heart

And I want it to be voiced

Just because I am different, does it mean I don't have a choice?

Of who I love and who I don't

Do I have to be straight to be normal?

Do I have to be something I'm not?

Why can't I be me and do what I want?

Who says straights are better and queers are not

Who says we can't love who we want and never hold back

Because we're all the same

In our own different way

So I am voicing my outrage to the entire world

And I can only hope for change in a world so defiant that anyone who is openly gay may as well be maimed

I will fight for freedom

I will not struggle one bit

For my freedom is my life,

And my life I will never forget
