Visiting Old Friends and Discovering New Ones

I open the door and get blasted by that woody, perfect, fresh smell that nothing can replace.

Pulse accelerates.

I briskly walk to the young adult section.

Pass the register,

The nonfiction,

The games.

BOOM.

Memories surround me as I pass old friends.

I run my fingers on their spines as I pass,

Breathing in the crisp perfumes they wear.

Tessa Grey is 100% herself.

Everyday I remember that.

Kasta is stronger than anyone.

I will always look up to her.

Allison Sekemoto struggled to accept her monsters.

As do I.

There.

I hold in a tiny scream of excitement,

Calm myself,

And pick up the book.

My new inspiration.
