A Villanelle with Initiative
"A Villanelle with Initiative"
Look at the rising sun,
Kissing the earth with rays,
Who will I be when it’s done?
Calm and pure as a nun,
Mature beyond my days,
Look at the rising sun.
Feel the wind- feel it run,
Such a beautiful phrase,
Who will I be when it’s done?
Proud and bold- like I’ve won,
Pushed through despite the weight,
Look at the rising sun.
Quick and strong as a gun,
My voice flows- never strays,
Who will I be when it’s done?
Today’s the day- I’m the one,
Unleash my wisdom’s blaze,
Look at the rising sun,
Who will I be when it’s done?
