Victory

1 Corinthians 15:57

57 But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Since the battle is over … where is now the battlefield?

Here and there some scrimmages with the ones defeated

There is always trouble with them who cannot yield

For they are living their destiny to be soon depleted

They place a bomb here or there blowing up a car

Face to face they don’t want to appear being lost in hate

Judgment in their eyes is the destruction in their heart

As they write their own epitaph in stone or in slate

They will be remembered by the ones just like them

Maybe the only cries are from their moms and sisters

Maybe the only tenderness is in their garments hems

That they kick as they walk until their hearts are blistered

Can evil cry a tear or understand compassion?

Can darkness but absorb some light to let it disappear

To live for own wants and wishes seems to be the fashion

To only do what feels right in their now and here

Mankind has been here before but now it may not last

Somewhere in the design of the temporal, boundaries are set

No one really knows or the signs of the times are fast

Approaching this blind and confused world where we’re at
