Victorious

Job 29:25 New King James Version (NKJV)

25 I chose the way for them, and sat as chief;
So I dwelt as a king in the army,
As one who comforts mourners.

Jesus showing off His army

There they come ... not what I expected

His army looks like a tired ragged band.

Carrying the wounded ... some even crawling

is that called victorious ... is that then the end?

Helmets are dented ... and shields split open

The girdle unblemished as sandals support

The swords they’re dragging, as Jesus stands smiling

with tears in His eyes ... is the True Living Word.

Next to the Father ... He whispers:”Well done”

to the troops that are just struggling on.

The Father smiles ... with arms wide open

as glorified the troops arise ... all pain is now gone

Even the fallen behind ... surround now the Throne

as united in Christ with raised hands they stand.

Singing “Glory to the Highest” ... and peace to their Maker

Who fought all their battles ... again and again ...
