Romans 8:12-13
12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh 13 (for if you live according to the flesh, you will die), but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.
The flesh used to mean the body, where sin was magnified.
The products of the one I see in the morning's reflection.
Talk, thought and action should not be justified
when I found in horror that flesh seems an addiction.
Before God Almighty flesh is just a vessel
simply set aside for the Master’s use.
Like a car to rent, as some are new and shiny
or some a rolling heap that shows self-abuse.
The flesh is the battleground where I fight myself.
Opposing forces tug at me and one is very dominant.
The old man and the new start in opposite corners
and meet in the middle to slug it out every instance.
Sin is harmful to the body and it is manifested in flesh.
It is like leprosy for sure to the mind croaking in naught.
Through this, you come out maimed ... a product of degradation
someone who can’t endure ... not worth a second thought.
The end of it is death ... there's no doubt about it.
The spirit, soul, and body lifeless in the sand
Until dried up in the sun beyond recognition
as the eternal swallows it ... according to God’s plan.
To be crucified with Christ ... the need of all who live
to move so close to the cross ... that its splinters pierce your soul.
To die right there in time ... and then be resurrected
is the Way to Life itself ... to be completely whole.
The cross then moves with Spirit and integrates your life.
Your spirit will inhale ... what the Cross has accomplished.
So you will experience ... the fullness of God’s Love
as the universe and temporal ... soon will be abolished.
