Unzip Your Skin

just another stupid song I wrote

well, it's a quarter past dawn

and I'm home alone

nothing to do

our love long gone

I glance at my phone

and see you've moved on

my heart begins to break

I drive to your house

and walk across the lawn

knock on the door

your pink lips drawn

as if you're telling a joke

my mind won't catch on

your love is fake

I look into your eyes

all I see is a mask

hiding who you really are

you ask if I'm fine

I lie behind a flask

cowering under my scars

when life is shit

but you just play on

acting like an angel

so I play along

you stole my heart

I wrote this song

it's not yours to take

the streets are dark

with brains and brawn

but you can't back down

you need to live on

to afraid to fall weak

like you've been all along

doesn't it make you ache

I look into your eyes

all I see's a mask

hiding who you really are

you ask if I'm fine

but I hide behind a flask

cowering under my scars

well, it's a quarter past dawn

and I'm home alone

nothing to do

our love long gone

I glance at my phone

and see you've moved on

my heart begins to break
