Unwelcome

he was a secret that I regret keeping
locked away, deep inside my soul he stayed
he shook hands with my fears
he befriended my pain
he punched my trust in the gut
he made himself at home in my body
then started to move furniture around
pushing my couch closer to the back door
and flipping over my mattress
he threw my belongings out the window
oh, how my vase of daisies flew the night he took advantage of me
