Untitled

Katie doesn't really understand
Little Johny probably never will
Teary eyes that watch the news
Comprehend it all to well

Grandma is crying in the next room
A nation falls to their knees
They pray so hard to find their Savior
He comprehends how his people bleed

Christmas presents sit under the tree
the one wrapped in red
It was for Emilie
but it's not being opened today
and not all the pain in the world can change that.

I never had this fear
I got to be 6
Exactly the way a 6 year old should
My heart breaks for those who have been robbed of this gift.
