Untitled #3

It was almost cruel in the words he spoke

Like a silent train

Like the nightmares you woke

up from,

You played it safe,

You played it cool,

You knew you'd see him around

in your fucking school,

In the places you once laughed

Now a silent somber place,

And he doesn't know,

He doesn't care

He hasn't cried

He hasn't dared,

To put his soul forward

To try and be,

He was stressed from school

He wasn't happy,

And there was this girl,

Another,

Way over there

By his place,

His best friend, he cares

Same major, same classes,

Same work out with the masses,

Oh he spoke so highly of her

The mood was gone,

And you knew in the back of your head

Something was wrong,

But you pushed on forward,

You tried

You cared

You fell a bit in love

After all you dared,

But it wasn't needed

It wasn't enough,

It didn't stop the worrying of

You're not good enough,

He kept his cool

And you see each ohter

Round the damn fucking school,

You wonder if somethin' woulda changed his mind,

Or maybe, just maybe, it was just time,

You had a good run, didn't want it to end,

But you don't know now if ya'll can be friends.
