The Unseen Innocence of Earth

Location

Lyrics traveling through ears into and open mind

Words easily defined

Sitting beneath the stars

The only sounds to be heard

A boat creaking and crickets chirping in harmony

A simple moment only to be cherished by me

The common human eye - Open, yet blind

To the Earth's rotation and the happiness found in the simplicity of life

True joy I seek through others

Speaking in their weakest moment and seeing into an unimaginably beautiful soul

Watching a person slowly lose control

Sneaking into the brain hidden under blonde hair that pretends not to care

Traveling across a map without destination

The mission to find myself

Continually trying new gadgets, gizmos, and devices

In search of a concealed talent, but my view is blocked by vices

A place tended to be wonderful

Personailty blooming as we age

Growing Unmanageably

But, it's not the roses I see

The thorns grow thick and sharp

Obstructing the sight of deep red petals

Satisfaction no longer found in reality

Prefering to live in fantasy

An escape found in the depth of my head

The world I existent in

Even as I lay in bed

Walking through life with squinted eyes

Peering between lashes

Creating a world with a blurred edge

Allowing me to see what I'd like to be

Painting the blur into a cup of sunshine

I wish to throw away conformity

Why be what society declares acceptable

A dream of spending my day

Feeling a blade of grass between naked toes

Wondering where the shadow casted by a palm tree goes after dark

I will never experienece such an effortless day

The Earth's inhaitants yelling, "You have bills to pay"

I'll continue to plan for college and a job

A day too far away to fathom

My savings will be full and retirement will be flowing in

Like the waterfall I desired to sit by years ago

& I'll think to myself.. or possibly decl are with joy

I now may rest and do as I please

The college classes produced a life of ease
