What makes me tick?

Girls are no longer women or ladies 

but bitches and hoes

girls no longer read books 

but are quick to party drink and smoke 

instead of learning how to cook girls will sit and learn how to roll a blunt

and why because that's what they think a dude wants 

forget about work because i can twerk

sell my body not my mind

yeah it is all fine

and people wonder what makes me tick

what makes me tick is that a girl puts up with being call a trick and a bitch 

but wont talk to a guy who is willing to treat her right 

what makes me tick is a young lady 16 and having a baby by someone who has another lady

what makes me tick is the lack of respect for women 

the lack of respect for themselves and the lack of respect from others

now girls would rather be called a "Boss Ass Bitch"

than an independent women with a few needs 

they would rather lay in bed with someone who barely remembers their name 

than be with someone who wants to with them through sunshine and rain

forget a dude who is going to college 

they want a rapper or a trapper 

quick money quick fix

not long time commitment and long time dreams 

what makes makes me tick is the ignorance 

people would rather go to school and ditch because it's cool 

but not go to class and pass

people start to rob others and say they deserved it for flaunting 

but what did they flaunt ? Success? happiness? or Education?

what makes me tick is the society today 

and the fact that the media is how people are portrayed

naked girls here

drug dealers there 

but no scholars or doctor

what makes me tick 

is that because of this world 

i am considered a bitch 

for not giving it up

for speaking my mind 

because that is never fine 

what makes me tick is the respect that African Americans fought for

only to watch how now it all has hit the floor

because now if you are educated and black you are not black

if your educated now your being to white

now everyone is your "nigga"

you not cool unless you can rap or play ball

if you got a problem then fight it out like animals 

but what we fought for was to be portrayed as equal

follow a black person in your store they might steal

what makes me tick is the way we are portrayed 

so when you wonder what makes me tick look at the world 

and realize the world is full of false accusations and ignorance 

not truth and knowledge and that is what truly makes me tick
