Unopposed
Location
(poems go here) In the face of adversity
I find myself engulfed in darkness
Unaware of who I'm fighting
But I know I must eliminate them
For they are the ones holding me back from destiny
My enemies lurks in the darkness,
Concealing their identity, waiting to strike
I'm anxious -- yet I'm ready!
I take a warrior's stance:
My legs form a small arch
To steady my trembling body.
Knuckles the shade of violet are balled in a fist
They are willed and bent into a 90 degree angle.
Ready to strike at a moment's notice,
At the slightest movement I strike
I hit nothing but air.
At the slightest sound I strike
Again I hit nothing but air.
At no sight of danger I relax and allow
A chuckle to escapes from my rose petal lips.
I hear a faint but familiar laughter and ready myself
It bellows directly in front me and I strike!
My fist is met not with a warm flesh
But instead a cold but smooth surface.
It shatters on impact!
My knuckles turn from violet to crimson
Tiny invisible knife pierce my skin
I whale in pain
The faint laughter grows louder
Anxiety becomes fear
Darkness becomes light
There is only one enemy
I stare into my enemy's eyes
Into my reflection -- into my eyes!
I am the enemy blocking my destiny
How did I not see it until now?
