The Unknown

You know you can do it.

You’ve spent so much time,

So much time.

But you don’t know for sure,

The Future is scary.

It could all go well,

You know friends have done it so many times before,

So many times.

But you don’t know for sure,

The Future is scary.

Your mirror seemed to like it,

You imagined applause and grins and no embarrassment,

Applause and grins and no embarrassment.

But you don’t know for sure,

The Future is scary.

No matter how much you think you are prepared,

The moment is always too much, pressure, sweat, self-conscious.

You should just give up.

But you don’t know for sure,

The Future could be Yours.

Hello,

First time posting a poem, this one is about trying to

talk in front of a class and despite hours of practice

Not being able to stomach the possibility of failing.
