Unity - or lack thereof

Culture derives from religion,

and religion is a building block for culture.

Not just each religion

but each sect, region and translation.

With 20 major world religions

and hundreds upon hundred of major religious groups,

what would it be like without the divisions?

Would cultures be more unified?

More than one culture can be found in a religion and more than one religion in a culture.

What if there was none? Or just one?

Would we question less? Agree on more?

Or would we find other things to divide us

There are no limits, yet so many divisions.

One Higher Being and a million different ways to look at him.

Why do we let mankind separate and distort the good in it all,

Creating boarders and enemies.

We can’t live with the ‘what if’s.

We do live with our religions, our divided cultures.

Sitting comfortably with in our own culture and religion

not daring to learn about a new one or look at things from another perspective.

-Don’t do bad things and

treat others as you’d like to be treated -

Why can’t we all just rely on the inherent teachings of most

to unify us,

bring mankind back together.
