An Unfaulted Flower

Dedicated to my dear cousin Emily Grace Waller

A flower blooms in an unexpected garden

Petals, like ribbons, dancing in the wind

Memories of the dichromatic boats we rode in.

Giggling grins in the campers…

Beauty.

A flower gives off its colored pollen.

Uniqueness filling our lungs.

Memories of the house we played in.

Running races on the grass…

Kindness.

A flower begins to shine brightly.

Antheia cries at its beauty.

Memories of the places we went.

Admiring aspirations around us…

Love.

A flower becomes unlike the rest.

Stalk green and full of life.

Memories of the sand between our toes.

Changing colors in the sun…

Vibrance.

The gardener plucks the unfaulted flower.

He smiles with open arms.

Memories of a smiling face we loved.

Elevating everything around us…

Grace.

We are left wondering.

Why do we always lose the best?

However, Just like us…

"God always picks the prettiest flowers first."
