Two minutes and fifty five

Two minutes and fifty five seconds

for microwave popcorn.

Eleven and a half minutes

for a phone call with your mother.

Ninety minutes

for a complete sleep rotation.

Eight hours

from clock-in to clock-out.

Thriteen and a half hours

For airline travel across international waters.

Two business days

For updating your pen pal.

Ten days

For a reasonably accurate weather prediction.

Twenty nine days

For February, sometimes.

Four months

For leaf and precipitation changes.

Nine months

For the creation of man.

One year

For the candle lit celebration

Seven years

For the discovery of blood vessel inhibitors.

Fifty years

Four score

Six centuries

How strange

Our lives built upon a substance

Revered and lusted after,

Fought for and against,

but...

There is naught such a thing

As the precious time we crave.
