Two Little Feet

Two little feet

So soft and sweet

Unhardened

Unscarred

Daddy holds them in his hand

And smiles the face of a brand new dad.

Two small feet

Clad in pink

Runs in hurried leaps

Down the stairs so steep

A bright tutu to match its end

And daddy dances with his little ballerina friend.

Two painted feet

Comes flip-flopping to meet

Memories to make with brand new friends

While time is needed to make amends

And daddy watches and guides

His girl is happy to confide.

Two grown feet

Tall and high and glimmering winks

A long way down

In a long, fairy tale gown

And daddy waves the boy on

Knowing he’ll justly protect his treasured fawn.

Two sure feet

Gliding to the place where she is sure to meet

A man who’s true

Who wants be with her through

And daddy feels a tear slip

His baby girl wants him here on this great trip.

Two tired feet

Happy with their path even in the heat

But home they fare

For a little home needs to be shared

And daddy holds his arms wide

And holds his baby girl safe inside.
