The Twisted Idea of 'Full'.
Location
Here’s the issue.
They tell me to be a clone,
But I just want to help those who moan.
They tell me in order to be beautiful,
You have to be anything but ‘full’.
And yet,
I’m fuller than ever.
I’m full of joy. Of hope. Of peace.
So, maybe my beauty has nothing to do with my outer appearance,
I think humanity needs to take a second glance.
I am flawless on the inside,
I have beautiful qualities abounding in me that you couldn’t physically see, if you tried.
I have compassion. And grace. And patience.
Beautiful hearts last much longer than beautiful parts.
Parts of faces, clothing, or hair.
See, my beauty is there- in the abyss of my soul.
I hunger for justice and making people whole.
I crave dignity for illiterate children, I crave hope for drug-abusing families.
You can’t see this flawlessness of mine,
But it’s there, my compassion is a sign.
So who says we can't be full?
Who defines your beauty?
The world, filters, likes....
Or do you let the fullness of your heart
.....be the start.
of your beauty.
Let's stop touching screens and let's start touching hearts.
Let's be flawless....let's be less.
Less focused on what the media portrays
Less focused on the way your hair lays.
Less focused on the gap between your legs
But rather---FOCUS.
Focus on the gap of this world and hope.
You have beauty.
And the world needs it.
I have beauty.
And the world needs it.
Can we portray ourselves as flawless amdist our many flaws?
Because, THAT'S, an image I would relate to.
Beautifully, unashamedly, broken people---
Coming together under the idea that we can create flawlessness, beauty amidst the broken.
Let's twist this idea that society has portrayed about the word 'full'.
Please don't be skinny in love.
