The tunnel is dark and long
and the light at the end
is most likely a train.
the movement around me
is nothing but the scattering
of my demons.
The sounds I hear in this tunnel
are all the rats and vultures
waiting to devour my dead body.
When another person comes in,
I know they're coming to hurt me.
To kill me.
To destroy me.
and they tell lies of wanting to help me out.
Behind me, the tunnel is filling.
Filling with the stones of my heart,
and cement of my blood.
There's no turning around-
no backing out.
To go forward is certain death.
But I refuse to die afraid.
