the true teenage experience

lights say go but signs say no

the fluorescent light flickers

morbid invincibility

indomitable fatality

laughing and crying

at the same time

we scream into the dark

together

moonlight spills into the room and

we confess our sins

we can’t remember who we will be

and we can’t see who we were

but we know who we are

tonight is all that matters
