True Love

There is something to be said of the force that lifts us at our lowest,

Turning our words into those of poets.

Allows us to know well their mistakes and flaws,

But to still see them and be struck by awe.

To have someone by your side during the best,

Who never wavers through life's worst test.

It makes us want to smooth the edges we feel are rough,

Even though they tell us we are already enough.

Our first thought when we awake,

The brightest ray of sun no season can shake.

The most telling sign that it's been worth your while,

Is that just the chance of forever makes you smile.
