Troubles Dont Last Always.
In the hood cancer takes the best of us
Jail, drugs, and shootouts usually take the rest of us
It just be seeming like a God ain't there for us
like really who the heck be helping us
Dirty cops arresting us
Nasty uncles molesting us
Desert eagles protecting us
But only from the lies they keep telling us
Talking about our school system running out of money
But spending billions on war
Look people we not dummies
Yea we poor
But we still got needs
I got a niece who whispered to me that she too hungry to scream
Too hungry to sleep
She up all through the night
Watch momma selling her body
And daddy selling white
She reading fairy tales
She want that Cinderella life
Come midnight
All she seeing is her parents fight
So she the reason why I grind
Plus I do it for that
Paraplegic who still believing she can be a dancer
And for that boy with down syndrome who know that he handsome
And I gotta grind for my momma cause she dying from cancer
Pause...
Do y'all know how it feels to see your mother dying in front of you
Stress brought her cancer back
And everybody saying it's because of you
And yea I got a pops but ain seem him in a minute
I mainly see him on pictures I used to see him on Christmas
I heard that he went to prison
I'm not tripping
All is forgiven
When he free and ready to talk I'm here and ready to listen
My cousin Vern serving 10
My brother got a life sentence
But my brother not going to jail he got AIDS
But what's the difference
When life gives you lemons
Make a lemon meringue pie
Don't cry dry your eyes
For troubles don't last always
