Trouble Sleeping Again

Last night, my eyes were heavy;
I was having trouble sleeping again,
The room so dark I could not see,
My skin raw, itching, and paper thin,

Truth pounded against the insides of my skull,
Static shining forth from my eyelid,
Giving me the feeling that I might fall,
And under the blankets, even in the humidity, I hid.
