Trial of an Artist

I've gone through everything.

Encouragement; Discouragement.

Praise; Ridicule.

Advice; Sabotage.

You name it, my art has felt it.

Then, an opportunity, a chance!

A risk, a gamble.

I present my best work,

For the world to see, in its purest form;

In its true form.

I hold my breath.

Some said I could make it, while others said otherwise.

I took it in stride; "to each their own" I would say.

But now,

Now I can say how I truly feel to the Naysayers.

I can say,

"You were wrong."

I made it.

Through everything, I made it.

My dreams have come true.

It feels good to say it.

I have made it.
