A Tree In The Windy Rain

Tue, 10/21/2014 - 21:31 -- ALF

You can hear the howling whistle of the air,
As a lonesome tree just sits there.
Have you ever wonder what is its like to be a tree?
Standing tall and strong, living thousands of years.
Losing leaves and gaining them back as the years roll by.
Giving Earth the beautiful colors in the fall, and the bright
Green in the Spring. Sitting there as little children climb up
And down your truck in a game of hide-and-seek or tag.
Or having names and dates carved in you to forever be
Remember. Providing shade in those hot summer days.
Sitting here staring out the window, I just wonder, what
is it like to be a tree.
