Tree Shadows

Location

With steepness and
shallowness. Scraping
of knees. The river
water sings to me.

With mosquitoes buzzing,
daytime fuzzing. Panic
sets in... Nightmarish visions
of creepy crawlies. The

water creates a din. Trees
drooping, branches of lollies.
The water is warm, the sun is hot.
The day grows cold, the water does

not. With tree shadows on watery
waves. Soft mud creates raves. The
wind gives music, a soft chill. Sluggish
moving water, down a sloping hill.

The sky starts to turn, the colours
churn. The blue, turns to orange.
With reds and pinks, oranges and
yellows. The colours mellow. From

Strong and Bold! To soft and low.
The shadows of trees deepen. Clouds
turn to stormy grey, water starts to
seep in. Into clothes so dry before.

While inner tubes drag below. The
river sun starts slowly sinking.
Shaking the world. Of slow moving
colours. While mosquitoes cause

panic, and darkness causes anxiety.
The warmth of the sun, erases enmity.
With drinks still flowing, and laughing,
increasing. The sight of end comes to mind.

Too long, the rivers been run. A
little too rough, and a little too kind.
Too long, the rivers shone it's sun.
A little too hot, a little too long.

Shivering bones drenched in dirt.
Emerge from the river, and begin
to flirt. The smell of cooking would
fill the air. If the rainbows and orange,

hadn't left the lair. Driving in a car,
too smelly of gasoline. All remember,
the smell of clean. The river and trees,
water and mud, shadows of love.
                                                                           The River Sun.
