The treasure ... wisdom
The treasure … wisdom …
Job 28:12
12 “But wisdom—where can it be found?
Where is the place of understanding?
Instead of sleeping time away ... where is the search for wisdom?
It surely can’t be found ... in the busyness of the day.
When the mind rules ... and acts on experience and discern
And so moves the so-called nonsense out of the way.
Is its foundation sorrow ... and its piers supported by grief?
Is it poured in one-ness ... by one’s “own” belief?
Belief comes from the outside ... that we accept or reject.
It has little to do with me as such ... even if I try my best.
So it is with wisdom ... we have none of our own.
We can only receive some ... if there’s place within our heart.
So who empties us from ourselves ... and who will clean our house,
to make room for the better ... and eliminates our “smarts”?
“A place of understanding”... surely is specific.
It is not all over the place ... where this is found.
It is not for all to get ... and this is for certain
that a taste of this removes ... all pride that abounds.
To give up pride and its hunger ... is insurmountable.
To let go of what was the choice and reason of the Fall.
To receive this and the price He paid ... was so formidable
that payments are made every day ... as depravity has a ball.
The place of understanding ... seems far beyond us.
It is not based on intelligence ... but arrived through wisdom.
It starts with obeying God ... in living for His purpose
so He will fill you up ... with the seasoning of His Son.
