Today's Cup of Tea
Today’s Cup of Tea
Your heart echoes vigorously inside of your ears,
As you attempt to justify what you have yet to do.
Your hands are leaves rattling and quivering against the wrathful wind.
Your thoughts race ahead and lap you, over and over.
Your fingers clutch onto the pure porcelain valley,
Tap. Tap. Tap.
You struggle to talk yourself down; the more you try,
The less you have to grasp.
Friends fickly lend hands to help,
Perpetually brushing you away with a cold shoulder.
Joy and Comfort dance mockingly around you,
Shouting in unison every insecurity you’ll ever know.
Great droplets crash in every direction;
The heavy rainclouds let loose their turbulent nature.
It is a wistful war to fight, but
Which demon will you entertain tonight?
