Today

Sometimes I wish it was possible to

freeze time and live in a single moment

for forever. Like today,

today I stuck my head out the open car

window, listened to the leaves crackle

under the tires, saw a cyclist on

the side of the road. Marveled

at the red-orange-yellow trees against the backdrop

of the blue, blue sky.

I wish it was possible to freeze time for forever, but until then

I’ll just laugh when people ask me

why I’m smiling at the sky today.
