Tired of Secrets

Location

I do not care which side you’re on,

But this is an issue that can’t just be gone.

I look at her every single day,

All I see is perfection in every way.

So, what more can I say?

Then I watch the news and see

All the anti-gay rights hypocrisy.

I wish the rest of the world could see

That the entire community just wants to be free.

In the shadows, we embrace.

We love each other in our secret place.

In plain sight, that can’t be the case.

Our love is in our eyes, I see it on her face.

In plain sight, I hate having to give her space.

I did not choose this lifestyle.

Open up your eyes, stop that bile.

My relationship is so very worthwhile,

Even if for now, we have to hide in the emerald isle.

Can you randomly choose to love that guy over there?

Or maybe that girl with the short, brown hair?

We deserve answers, openness, fair and square.

Look out world, buckle up for the ride.

We’re tired of hiding, so here comes the tide of pride!
