The man in black crawls towards the dusty wind,

His thoughts and words swim backwards to the past.

Minutes and hours creep shyly to his mind,

Ticks and tocks fly, this one slow, this one fast.

The stars fall down and sink like dull anchors,

To hold down a world that fades away like smoke.

Regrets and mistakes fuel the dark man's anger,

The weight of a dead heart demands a choke.

His wife, his love, his life share a quick glance,

Rain falls to tears in an ocean of hate.

The clock that wrote his tale believed in chance,

The time that stole his mind believed in fate.

The hands of time creep slowy to a halt,

But not before the hands outline the fault.
