Time to Tell the World

I have to tell something to the world today;

The secret's out; I'm out; I'm gay.

For years and from some people it's been a secret,

Afraid I won't be treated as an equal.

Why do I pull back my curtain, why do I hide?

Because I know that there are people in whom I can't confide

in; they'd judge me, although they always say I'll be accepted

I feel that my happiness and dreams by them will be intercepted

Marriage? Wedding? One of them doesn't believe

in it. Sometime's I doubt he'd come, I'll always think he'll leave.

You can guess who, these people I'm talking about.

I don't wanna tell them, 'cause I don't want them to cast me out.
