This Time Last Year

This Time Last Year

Abi Oxley

This time last year, I wouldn’t recognize myself

I was so young, so naïve

This year, life is so much different

I’ve changed, and so has the world

I grew up, I left, I changed

I learned about the world, but more about myself

I’m passionate, creative, excited to learn

I have become capable of more than I could know

I pay rent, I vote, I grocery shop

I guess I’m what you call, adult

The best years of your life can be so hard

Harder than you ever guess

But when you find what you’re passionate about

Your life turns for the best
