As Time Goes By

It's the first day of school,

And momma's afrad.

Afraid about me making friends,

And my toddler years coming to an end.

Now it's time for fifth grade,

And my friends don't wanna play.

Cooties no longer exist,

They disappeared like the morning midst.

Now we're chasing boys

As if they are our greatest joys.

I'm feeling sort of strange,

I've now realized how much has changed.

It's now four years of complication

At least I get to go to the special occassion.

Prom's the night we've all been waiting for

There he is, waiting at my door.

Soon it's graduation day;

I don't know what to say.

College is very far; several miles,

There's surely a mixture of tears and smiles.

Ready, set, go

It's time for a test on everything I know.
