Time to Go

Location

The time is very dreary,

Dark and full of gloom.

The people less than cheery,

It’s time to go.

Many of us leave

To our impending doom

Through passages that weave.

We have to go.

We’ve departed from our friends,

Left them behind.

It seems it never ends

We are forced to go.

Some are there early,

Who wait while tension builds.

Some try to run free,

It’s no use, they’ll go.

We’re assigned a room to sit,

They say that this helps!

But we all know we’re in the pit,

It’s finally time to go.

We are questioned and tested

With things we ought to know.

Many of us aren’t well rested;

Sans will will we go.

We are in there

Too long to recount.

It doesn’t seem fair.

We must go.

It’s earthly hell,

It’s torturous,

It never goes well.

We can hardly go.

They all seem dazed,

Like they’re in a trance.

I’m still amazed

They let us go.

Finally we depart,

But we’ll be back again;

Study hall comes in many a part.

But for now we can go.
