That Time
Staring out the window, my mind in blank.
I felt numb, hollow, crushed, and heavy.
At school, my smile was too cheerful.
No one noticed.
I started to lose my appetite.
No one noticed.
Slowly I slip away.
Now I am here, waiting and hoping.
For a sliver of light.
Darkness encloses me.
With welcoming arms, I give up and rush to it.
