Thug Life

Being a thug is all fun and games because of the girls and the money,

but once your homeboys start dying at your feet, it is no longer funny.

Born into this dangerous life with no choice,

having train wrecks as parents, not having a voice.

The closest thing to a role model is behind a TV screen,

many teens want to be gangster, but the streets are mean.

Watching someone close to you get shot over a drug deal,

it will feel like a dream, but the suffering is real.

Being a thug is not what you want: the violence, the hate.

I advise you to wake up before it is too late!

You don't want to suffer the nightmares because of what you've been through,

you don't want to have lifelong trust issues because of what people can do.

Entering the lifestyle is like an addictive drug,

Take the advice, don't identify with being a thug.

If you want to grow up and prosper, have kids and a wife,

do yourself a favor and don't get caught up in the thug life.
