Thoughts/Insomnia

Can’t sleep at night,

Can’t seem to stay awake.

My head is feeling light,

Another smile I’ll have to fake.

A broken heart,

A bright streetlight.

The room is dark,

Taken by the night.

Wear glasses but I can’t see,

He ran to the ocean,

Too loud, too bright, can’t breathe,

Surrounded by contortions.

Real or not?

Sit and think,

Peace or thought?

The boy winks.

Dimples,

Daydreaming,

So simple,

I’m screaming.

The objectivity of objects,

Stare at the moon

The subjectivity of subjects.

I’ll be with you soon.

He loves a fool

Blood, roses and tears

The ugliest jewel

Sleeping in a lake of fears.

You and I

The children play

Born to die.

We fall prey.

Words are a mystery

I spoke in tongue

Just before you’d kissed me

Back when I was young.

Stretch, breathe, relax

Whisper a hello

Listen to the purr of cats

Such a lucky fellow.

Sleep

I need sleep

Teeth.

He tastes my teeth.

Trampoline

We’ll be fine

If you know what I mean,

What I’ve got in mind.

Pop, pop, popcorn

Kiss my hand

Heart repaired and torn

May our flight never land.
