Those Days

Those days when we sang,
we poured our hearts and souls into everything we played
Those days we were the same,
we had little years of age we had room to make mistakes
Those days were torn away,
as time ran on the songs were gone and little did we play
Those days were the best we made,
we grew apart when life got hard—our hearts distraught
We went too far...
We didn’t know how easy life was
We didn’t know what pain or strife was
We didn’t know how good we had it
We were just focused on what was bad
And we didn’t think that those days would end
We didn’t think that we wouldn’t be friends
We didn’t know that it’d all be in vain
We didn’t know that that we never felt pain
Where did we go?
Where did our feelings flow?
What’s with all these do’s and don’ts?
No, we didn’t think that we’d fight
Yeah, we thought we would be all right
but now we stay up at night
thinking about what we didn’t do right
We didn’t know what was ahead
Wanting to go back again to that time when we all were friends
Maybe this won’t be the end
Maybe we can be friends
Maybe those days will return
Maybe all those bridges have burned...
