Thinker to Her Parents

You say you know the truth, but where
Are facts in your story
Just here and there, there’s not much there
Just eyes that won’t see

Did you ever think to question
What is fact and what is fiction
Why we’re here, what makes us human
Where’s the truth in what was spoken
And which of us is fallen

In everything, there’s good and bad
Why can’t you realize
I didn’t want to make you mad
Somehow I’m not surprised

I needed to think and question
What is fact and what is fiction
Why we’re here, what makes us human
Where’s the truth in what was spoken
And which of us is fallen

Would you love me if I was gay
Or even just bi
`Cause you don’t hear the words I say
And I know why
