Things We Overlook

The ocean breeze hitting your face,

Looking up at the stars in space,

Music enters your soul as you turn it up,

Finding a job that you actually love,

A child’s laughter that warms your heart,

Putting all your feelings into making art,

The smell of fresh cut grass,

Or the look of your crush sitting across from you in class,

The feel of towels straight out of the dryer,

Dancing and singing in the shower,

A gas station before the best trip of your life,

One step closer to winning the good fight,

Books that change you forever,

Dancing and feeling light as a feather,

So many things we overlook in our hurry,

I don’t want to miss out on them so I worry,

Am I taking enough of it in?

I hope, because I want no regrets.
